The IT Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves supporting a high-performance computing environment, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance our production workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network and Systems Management:
- Administer and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Manage server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
- Ensure high availability and performance of production systems and servers.
- Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.
- Monitor network security and respond to potential threats and breaches.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to staff, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of workstations, servers, and other IT equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and manage software licenses.
- Storage and Backup Management:
- Manage data storage solutions, ensuring efficient data access and retrieval.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data.
- Software and Application Management:
- Install, configure, and update software applications used in VFX production.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure software tools meet their needs and integrate seamlessly into workflows.
- Vendor Management:
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and IT projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT administration, preferably in a VFX, animation, or media production environment.
- Strong knowledge of network and server management, including Windows and Linux servers.
- Experience with high-performance computing environments and render farms.
- Proficiency in managing security systems and protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
